In Liminal Bloom, the organic, flowing lines of a flower—free-form lines drawn by hand—contribute a natural composition to the Plaza, with its minimalist geometry of modern architecture and complex classical architecture. In a wide variety of different media, Zimmermann often focuses on the interplay between geometric and organic forms.

Playfulness

Saturday July 27th 11am. Meet at the entrance to The Mary Baker Eddy Library, 200 Mass Ave and walk around the sculptures that are installed on the plaza and end at the bookstore, where the participants can purchase the catalog. The tour is free and open to the public.

Artists Laura Evans, Andy Zimmermann and Marilu Swett will lead a guided tour of Convergence, the sculptures sited by the Boston Sculptors Gallery on the Christian Science Plaza. Come and engage in an informal conversation about the role play can take in creating sculpture, from an artist's perspective.

Tad Blake-Weber, employee of the Christian Science Plaza, talks about Andy Zimmermann's sculpture, "Liminal Bloom", in this video. Liminal Bloom is one piece of a collection of art in the exhibit, Convergence, in Boston, Massachusetts.
