2013 Travel trailer,
plants, water, 7’ x 7’ x 12’
Grottos are caves seen throughout history as sanctuaries of contemplation
and devotion, oracles to the gods, shrines to saints, or reverence to nature.
This contemporary sanctuary is a refuge within this urban environment.
Veronica Switzer, employee of the Christian Science Plaza, Boston, talks about Christopher Frost's sculpture, "Grotto", in this video. Grotto is one piece of a collection of art in the exhibit, Convergence, in Boston, Massachusetts.
